Thurman Pond is actually a 3/4 mile lake completely surrounded by private land with gated security. There is no public access. As a result the fishing for bass, pike and others is superb. 5-6 pound bass are common. There are only seven camps on the lake (to the left of the parcel indicated above), all on one side. The view west is all natural, lovely sunsets. This is a no-motor-boat lake, you will occasionally see canoes, rowboats, and Adirondack guideboats only. It is a clean water lake, pleasant to swim in, no algae or other nuisance plants. You will see beaver, osprey, loons, eagles, deer, and occasionally a bear and moose.
